Experienced radon testing & radon mitigation contractor in Morris

Does your home or property have high radon levels? If levels are above 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends installing a radon reduction system. As a tasteless, odorless, and invisible gas, radon can only be identified through testing. So if you're not sure about your property, Apex Radon Solutions is the trusted radon mitigation company that can help you answer this question!

Health facts about home radon:

  • Radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer among non-smokers in the United States.
  • More than 20,000 Americans die of radon-related lung cancer every year.
  • Radon is a more significant health risk for children than adults.
  • Breathing radon poses a greater health risk than ingesting water that contains radon.
  • Smokers exposed to radon will substantially increase their likelihood of developing lung cancer.

While having any amount of radon in your home or building can be scary, there is no reason to worry. The modern radon mitigation systems from Apex Radon Solutions are highly effective in reducing home radon levels without causing much inconvenience.

At Apex Radon Solutions, we can help you choose the correct radon mitigation solution for your home and ensure that the installation process goes smoothly.

Job Stories From Morris, CT
Two-Point Radon Mitigation System Planned for Morris Home

In Morris, a homeowner is preparing to address elevated radon levels after testing measured 6.3 pCi/L. The home, built in 1998, has no sump pump, dirt crawl space, or WaterGuard system.

A two-point radon mitigation system is planned, with one extraction point near the oil tank in the corner of the home and a second extraction point in the rear corner near the chimney. The vent piping will be routed over the taller roofline, following the chimney, to provide proper discharge.

An 8-foot foundation crack will also be sealed as part of the installation. A tall ladder will be needed to safely complete the exterior portion of the work.

The homeowner's daughter and fiancé are planning to move into the home at the end of the month, so the goal is to have the mitigation system completed before they move in. Nick will be on-site with Sid to provide access.

Radon Mitigation System Planned for Morris Home During Real Estate Transaction

In Morris, a radon mitigation system was recommended after testing measured approximately 5.6 pCi/L during the sale of the home. Addressing elevated radon levels is a common step in real estate transactions and helps provide confidence for both buyers and sellers as the closing process moves forward.

The installation is intended to actively reduce radon levels and improve indoor air quality throughout the home. Because the homeowner, Anne, is not expected to be present during the installation and there may be communication challenges due to a language barrier, the installation team should carefully verify any site-specific details before beginning work.

Access to the property will be provided using the supplied entry code, allowing the team to complete the project efficiently while minimizing disruption to the home sale process.

Radon Mitigation System Planned for Morris Ranch Home

In Morris, a homeowner elected to address elevated radon levels after testing measured approximately 5.0 pCi/L. The property is a ranch-style home, and the homeowner is interested in moving forward with a mitigation solution following a follow-up discussion and scheduling review.

Because the consultation was completed remotely, the installation team will verify foundation conditions, extraction point placement, and vent routing upon arrival to ensure the most effective system design for the home. The homeowner works approximately 30 minutes away and requested a minimum of 30 minutes advance notice prior to arrival so he can meet the installation team on-site.

The project is focused on providing a reliable, long-term radon reduction solution to improve indoor air quality and create a healthier living environment.

Multi-Foundation Radon Mitigation System Planned for Morris Home

In Morris, a homeowner decided to address elevated radon levels after testing measured approximately 7.0 pCi/L in the basement and 4.5 pCi/L on the upper living floors. The home was built around 1988 and features a complex foundation layout consisting of four separate concrete foundation sections.

Because radon was detected throughout multiple levels of the home, a comprehensive mitigation strategy was recommended to address all foundation areas and improve overall indoor air quality. During the evaluation, an abandoned chimney opening measuring approximately 20 by 55 inches was identified within one of the foundation sections. This opening will need to be filled with concrete to eliminate a potential pathway for soil gases and improve the effectiveness of the mitigation system.

The homeowner requested that the vent piping be routed out the left side of the home toward the rear of the property. The preferred extraction point location is in the foundation area directly in front of the crawl space, positioned in the corner to maximize coverage and accommodate the desired vent route.

With four separate foundation sections and no sump pump or water management system present, the final mitigation design will focus on creating effective communication beneath the slab while addressing foundation openings that could contribute to radon entry.
