Job Stories From Ansonia, CT
Two-Pipe Radon Mitigation System Installed with Sump Cover in Ansonia Home

In Ansonia, we worked on a home built in 1900 where the homeowner had previously tested for radon and was advised to install a mitigation system. While a detector upstairs showed acceptable levels, the overall recommendation was to address radon at the source.

The home has a single foundation with no sump pump or crawl space, but a 2x2 dirt opening was identified in the basement. This area can act as a direct entry point for radon and was an important part of the system design.

A sump-style cover was installed to properly seal the opening, and a two-pipe radon mitigation system was put in place to improve coverage across the foundation.

The system was routed out the left side of the home along the driveway, providing a clean and practical exterior exit.

This approach addresses both the entry point and airflow, helping to create a more consistent and reliable reduction in radon levels.

Radon Mitigation System Installed in Ansonia Home with Dual Sump Setup

We worked on a home built in 1960 where radon levels tested at 14 pCi/L. The property includes two sump pumps along with a sealed water guard system, all of which were already properly enclosed.

To address the radon levels, a mitigation system was designed to work with the existing layout. The piping was run along the main beam in the center of the basement to keep the installation clean and organized, then routed out the left side of the home when facing the property.

This approach allowed us to take advantage of the existing sealed systems while creating effective airflow for radon reduction.

Custom Radon Mitigation for a 1959 Ranch Home in Ansonia, CT

In Ansonia, CT, the owners of a 1959 ranch-style home built on a slab were confronted with a high radon level of 12.6. To address this, our team designed a tailored radon mitigation system with pipes installed in the hallway and front bedroom closets, minimizing visibility and maximizing space efficiency. Given the tight attic space, boards were brought in to facilitate safe access during the installation, illustrating our meticulous attention to detail and safety during the project.

Custom Radon Mitigation for an Ansonia Homeowner

In Ansonia, a homeowner sought to address radon levels initially measuring at 4.0 pCi/L in his 1964-built home. Our tailored solution involved sealing cracks along the basement’s drainage path and installing a radon mitigation system in line with the basement columns, exiting near the propane tank. While the homeowner opted to defer installing a dehumidifier, electrical arrangements are planned post-installation, showing proactive coordination. The client also received a radon test kit for further monitoring the sunroom above the crawlspace, ensuring comprehensive safety coverage.
